Ezine Advertising is a highly effective method of targeting and promoting to your niche market. But several factors must be in place in order to be profitable.
Among the firsts to look out for is the quality of the ezine. the best way to gauge the quality is by becoming a subscriber yourself and receiving two or three mailings of the ezine in questions.

- Too many ads, too little content. You want balance. not just an electronic ad sheet with everybody giving their pitch. You want useful and informative content.

A popular source among marketer for this subject is the directory of Ezines. It is a proven and reliable source that helps you find the best ezines for you to advertise and teaches tips and tricks to be more effective. Some may find the price on the high side but it is a worthwhile investment.
When I am in the market for ezine advertising. I look up a service called Traffic Testers. Just like the name says. They advertise via different traffic venues and publish the results. They cover all advertising media. Ezines, Solo ads, PPC, Traffic exchanges, lists, etc.
If you don't want to spend money another approach to it is to look up Online marketers have established a presence. Not the ultra successful marketers but the kind that hang out at forums and message boards. Some of them have set up a decent website and perhaps even have a newsletter. Since they've been around they will be familiar with Ezine advertising. Join their list and just ask for some guidance.
Ezine advertising can deliver fast result and profits. But often times there is a trial and error period. Any tool can use to assist you in the process will save you money and frustration.
